Tribute to 'much-loved' dad after motorbike crash

by Tyler

The family of a man who died in a motorbike crash have paid tribute to a "much-loved" father, brother and uncle who was a "good friend to many".

Scott Ashton, 52, lost control of his Kawasaki ZX 600 on a right-hand bend on Park Road in Chorley on Monday, said Lancashire Police.

"Scott had a big heart and was always happy to help anyone," the family said.

"We are devastated by this sad loss and will miss him deeply."

Police appeal continues

The crash happened near the entrance to Astley Park at about 17:30 BST.

Mr Ashton was severely injured and died in hospital early on Tuesday, police said.

His family thanked witnesses and members of the emergency services who tried to help after the crash.

They added: "Many thanks to each and every member of staff and medical professionals at the Royal Preston Hospital for informing us every step of the way and allowing such a large family to be with him under difficult circumstances."

Police continue to appeal for any information or footage which could help their investigation into the crash.
